Akash Karnatki graduated as dance instructor from SPIDA (Shiamak Davars Institute of Performing Arts) in Mumbai. He went on to gain rich experience as an instructor of dance and fitness students ranging in age from 3 to 65. He has performed as a principle dancer in over 200 shows both across India and abroad and has also studied his craft extensively overseas.
In New York he excelled under the guidance of Guido Travers at a workshop held by the Broadway Dancer Theatre. From there he won acclaim dancing in several jazz, afro-jazz and ballet classes in Sydney, Australia and again on Broadway.
Always looking to expand his repertoire, he then entered the film industry and won roles in major projects such as Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Josh and Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi.
Spin Academy is his latest devotion and one he has spent almost a decade cultivating to its current incomparable status. Having personally selected and trained over forty instructors and assistants, Akash has created an academy and a name that denotes the highest quality in dance education.
Naturally, as the school continues to expand so does its director’s horizons, with an ever-increasing number of original schemes and goals just around the corner.
